Meet the Authors

Rochelle Manners

Rochelle has interests in Christian writing, craft activities and children's books. She is trained as a high school maths/science teacher and school guidance officer. Her first book was self-published by her own business, Wombat Books .

Her children's books include Marny finds an Echidna and Chirpy's New Home.

Rochelle believes it is important to conserve and care for all of God's creation therefore all of the work produced by Wombat Books, now and in the future, will have this purpose.

Tess Livingstone

Tess Livingstone works for The Australian newspaper. She is the biographer of Australia’s Cardinal George Pell, and the editor of seven other books – on business, education, theology, and a children’s book. Her work has been published in Australia, the UK and the USA.  She lives in a house called "All Seasons" with her daughter Jacinta, and cats Topsy and Bimbo, who appear as "Mr Waffles and Plum Pudding" in Jacinta's book of that name.

Jacinta Livingstone

For 15 years, Jacinta Kate Livingstone has enjoyed stories, snakes and ladders and snow, once winning a medal for the most interesting fall skiing down Burke Street at Mt Buller. Currently in Year 10 at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Jacinta finds all her subjects and co-curricular activities - debating, chess, drama and Shakespeare club - “peachy cream’’ and almost as essential as her iPod and movies. Her cats, Bimbo and Topsy (named after Enid Blyton’s pets) were a surprise 10th birthday present when she was in Year 5 at St Kevin’s Primary School, Geebung. Like her, Topsy and Bimbo enjoy home cooking, catnaps and daydreaming in front of the fire in winter.

Stacey McCleary

Stacey lives in Melbourne, Australia. When Stacey was a little girl she had many imaginary friends.  She believes that the characters in her stories - a very cheeky chicken and a very beautiful butterfly - are her childhood friends returning to teach her patience, persistence and the delight of seeing dreams come true.

Stacey's stories are filled with joy and discovery and she loves to share them with anyone who would love to hatch dreams of their own.

Margaret Pearce

Margaret started off life as a copywriter, married and had four children and kept on writing. She did an Arts Degree at Monash as a mature age student.  She writes mainly children's books, teenage novels, some poetry and short stories and shares them with her children and grandchildren.

Jennifer Scoullar

Jennifer was born in Melbourne and graduated in Law and Jurisprudence from Monash University.  She has always possessed a great respect and passion for nature. She lives with her family on a small rural property in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne.

Jennifer is one of Oz Child's most experienced and valued carers.  She will donate half the royalties for Wasp Season to Oz Child to support the work it does protecting and building better futures for children through a wide range of programs.

John Woolcock

From 1967 to 2003 John Woolcock taught the subjects of bacteriology and bacterial diseases to veterinary students at the University of Melbourne, then veterinary, and later medical, dental and science students at teh University of Queensland.

In a lifetime at the chalkface of academic endeavour, increasingly he saw standards and quality drop as bureaucracy grew in the administration of the once hallowed halls. Within the Hollowed Halls of Learning is a must for any who have passed through the portals of the tertiary schools of Australia, any who aspire to do so, and any concerned about the future of this country, and education in particular.
